Meet your Gas Engineer in Medway

Introducing Dan, your Gas Engineer in Medway

Before allowing someone to enter your property and carry out gas work, you want to ensure you know everything about them. You need to 100% trust in the engineer. This means ensuring you don’t get ripped off or worse that any form of danger is caused.

Gas is a very importance substance to be dealing with and when it goes wrong, believe us it goes wrong. Carbon monoxide poisoning and gas explosions are just two examples of how serious gas can be.

You don’t want to be touching gas appliances yourself. You may think you know what you’re doing from watching those YouTube videos. However the reality is that you don’t have the years of experience that a good gas engineer has or the equipment to carry out the safety checks.

So after coming to terms with the fact that a gas engineer is what you need, there are several things you can do to ensure you are choosing the right person for the job.

Dan at Super Trade Services, a gas engineer in Medway explains further.

Dan, tell us about yourself first

Well I’m Dan, I started out buying property in the Gillingham area within the Medway towns and to say they were fixer uppers is an understatement.

At the time I had a full time job and was fixing up the properties with the help of family in my spare time. I’ve always been hands on at home and enjoy DIY, so I decided to give property development a go. Fortunately my father is a Gas Safe Registered engineer and a builder with years of experience. I also have lots of friends in the building trade, such as plasterers, decorators etc.

By the time I had completely renovated the 4th property and with the help of family and friends who are qualified Gas Safe Registered engineers and plumbers, I had learnt a lot about plumbing and gas. I was their lacky and helped whilst they installed all of the gas and water pipe work. As well as a completely new boiler and central heating system.

I absolutely loved every minute of learning about the gas and plumbing. From here I decided to learn more and more. I went out of my way to assist gas engineers and plumbers on their jobs.

Around a year later, I enrolled on a Gas Safe course with Logic 4 Training. I haven’t looked back.

What do you think makes a good Gas Engineer?

Being honest. I pride myself on being open and upfront with customers. This is reflected within my outstanding reviews. It’s all about really good communication.

Many engineers go onto a job and just don’t communicate with the customer and I think that’s just not the best way to be. A good engineer will fully explain what they’re going to do, what they’re doing and what they have done. Providing the customer with information about why something has to be done in a particular way. Even why something has to be done at all or why something cannot be done. This builds confidence and trust for the customer.

How can a customer find a good Gas Engineer in Medway?

Firstly look at the reviews. Check out the engineers Google rating, TrustPilot reviews and elsewhere such as via Check A Trade. If previous customers are happy or otherwise, they will post about it on review sites. Be sure to read the negative reviews as well as the good reviews. Try to read between the lines and decipher whether a review is legitimate or possibly added by a friend.
